ted jacobsTed Jacobs composer
Ted was born in Park Ridge, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. He began making up his own songs at the age of five, teaching himself to play piano and guitar. Ted attended the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. He sold his first song in 1985 and moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career as a songwriter. He was a staff writer for Sony Music and many of his songs have been featured on TV and in films. While at Sony, Ted produced a girl group featuring a young (and already deeply talented) Stacy “Fergie” Ferguson. As a producer and then as an artist in his own right, Ted has worked with Clint Black, Olivia Newton-John, Joe Walsh, and the iconic Van Dyke Parks.

His first two albums, A Child’s Garden Of Songs and The Days Gone By received the Parents’ Choice® Award (Silver & Gold respectively) as well as the National Parenting Publications Award (NAPPA). The Days Gone By was additionally honored by Parents’ Choice as one of their 25 best albums of the last 25 years. Ted’s latest album Back To The Garden (September 2011) is a second collection of songs based on poems from Robert Louis Stevenson’s A Child’s Garden Of Verses. Mr. Jacobs currently lives in North Hollywood, California.
